Pure soap with no phosphates isn’t too bad once in a while, but… if you’re using detergents with phosphates & other chemicals like dyes & perfumes … That can potentially be harmful to your plants. In a study, plant phytotoxicity was observed in many cases when soaps & detergents were used on plants. Frequent use may enhance the occurrence of plant foliage damage. http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/plant… Graywater is pretty much diluted so it wouldn’t be as potentially damaging as more concentrated solutions used to kill pests. But still, I’d stick to staying away from using water with detergents & use water with pure soap if I wanted to use soapy water or graywater on & around plants.
