Because the ShareDrive has an internal battery to provide power for the data transfer functions it needs to be turned-on by the use of a power switch.To save battery life, the ShareDrive turns off automatically 30-60 seconds following the completion of data transfer or period of inactivity. This feature prevents the battery from prematurely discharged to empty in a person’s briefcase or pocket.
