Yes, the Advanced Adapter Engine as part of SAP NW PI 7.1 provides flexible deployment options: It can be deployed either together with the SAP NW PI central installation or in separate, non-central installations, such as in remote subsidiaries or closer to applications in secure locations. The non-central Advanced Adapter Engines can be still managed, configured and monitored from the central SAP NW PI 7.1 instance incl. the local message flow through the non-central Advanced Adapter Engines.
