Does the seat recline enough for reduced aerodynamic drag?
A Not substantially. Reclining the seat to gain an aerodynamic advantage is a compromise. The biggest change in reducing the frontal area (torso and head) occurs from 45 to 35 degrees. Although reclining from 35 down to 25 degrees reduces the frontal area further, it compromises the riders view and can produce discomfort. To further reduce frontal drag we offer the Spitfire RS, which has a narrow wheel track and joystick tiller steering. Our analysis has concluded that both of these features reduce the frontal area greater than 15%, as compared to a trike with a 32 front track using under-seat steering and a 25 deg. angle seat.
