Yes, CleanAIR’s proprietary controller adjusts the operation of the system to reflect variable NOx levels in the exhaust stream. In a true closed-loop control system, such as that developed by CleanAIR Systems for the E-POD, active measurements are taken both pre-NOx and post-NOx. The system allows for precise delivery of the reductant by self-adjusting the urea injection according to the post-NOx reading. A closed-loop system results in a higher level of system performance than an open-loop control system because it delivers the exact amount of reductant needed to reduce NOx levels.
