No. The Scale Eliminator does not remove anything from the water. The altered calcium and magnesium crystals will either remain in the water as suspended solids are settle to the bottom of a hot water heater, boiler, heat exchanger, cooling tower sump, etc. in a very sand like state. Any settled calcium and magnesium crystals are easily removed by periodic draining of hot water heater and during periodic maintenance of other equipment.
