Does the salary cap apply to faculty with contingent salary?

0

In most situations, the contingent salary represents 100% UW compensation for 100% UW effort on an appointment that is not specified at less than full time. If the MOU or appointment letter specifies less than a full time appointment and the full time equivalent salary is greater than the salary cap, then the salary cap should be applied. For example, if the salary cap is $185,000 and a faculty member is receiving $150,000 for 100% effort, then he/she is not over the cap. However, if the MOU or appointment letter specifies 75% FTE, then the full time equivalent salary is $200,000 and the cap needs to be applied.
