Yes. While the Black Box is in the vehicle, it is powered through either the DLC connector or hard wired connections, depending on the type of installation. When the processor/memory card is connected to your home PC, it is powered by the USB connector on your computer. In the event of a power loss, the data is protected with an internal lithium backup battery.
