Does the Queen of England literally live like a queen?
She’s the Queen of the United Kingdom, not just of England – it annoys the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish when people get this wrong. I would guess none of those are true. Indeed she does have servants but that’s because of living in several palaces, all very big, and she doesn’t do her own housework, laundry or cooking. But that’s about it. The palaces and staff serve another purpose as being Queen she has to host visiting heads of state and state banquets and things. State banquets are interesting… whilst dinner will be served in style in honour of a visiting president or monarch, the meal itself will be relatively simple modern food, of the kind you might get in a good but not REALLY fancy restaurant, usually designed to show off good British produce.
