DOES THE pura DYN ® SYSTEM REMOVE SOLIDS MORE EFFECTIVELY THAN OTHER FILTERS?

A. Yes. Most full flow oil and by-pass filters use paper filter cartridges and only the better filters remove solid contaminants down to a minimum of 15 microns. Most full flow filters are in the 25 to 40 micron range. Paper is commonly used as the filter media and is quickly coated with particles, dirt, sludge and varnish. There is far less filtering area in paper filter than in the pura DYN ® System and they have a definite tendency to clog and lose their efficiency quickly. As soon as the paper filter is heavily coated, the filters by-pass valve may open allowing unfiltered oil to flow through the engine. Thus the full flow oil filter becomes ineffective in a relatively short period.
