Does the PSWS visa count towards the time needed in the UK to apply for permanent residency?

0

No. If you intend to apply for permanent residency in the future based on 5 years working in the UK, your time on the PSWS visa does not count towards the 5 years. For the time to count you will need to apply under Tier 1 (General) or Tier 2. Tier 1 (General) takes previous earnings, qualifications, age and other factors into account. For example, to gain enough points, you will need to have earned the equivalent of £20,000 in a period of 12 months during the last 15 months. If you have been studying during the last 12 months, you can show earnings during a period of 12 months during the 15 months immediately before starting this period of full-time study. Further information (Tier 1 policy guidance)…>> Tier 2 is for skilled workers with a job offer. Your employer must apply for a certificate of sponsorship before you can apply for your visa.
