There is no question that it detects prostate cancer, it is pretty accurate. The issue is, will doing this test help you beat prostate cancer. Just because we can detect a cancer early does not mean we can beat it. Lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer death in the US. It is fairly easy to screen for with a simple chest X-ray. However, most physicians do not screen for lung cancer because they know that early detection does not help with this particular cancer. With other cancers, such as colon cancer, early detection has been shown beyond a doubt to save lives. If we do the (PSA) Prostate Specific Antigen and the results come back elevated then at that point you will enter the medical system. There is really no other way to approach it. You will see a Urologist. You will have the test repeated and almost certainly have a painful procedure called a prostate biopsy.
