Does the pregnancy scans present any risk to the baby?
The many research studies and reports over the years have not reported untoward effects of ultrasound on the baby or mother. 4D and 3D ultrasound is no different to conventional 2D Pregnancy Ultrasound scanning except in this case, the images are collected by the ultrasound machine, processed in its computer memory to give a 3-dimentional image. Therefore, safety and risk are not affected in any known way.
