Does the “Pool Safety Net” officially eliminate the need for a pool fence?

No! Although it can easily be argued that a “pool safety net” better serves parents with small children. The Government quite rightly believe many pool owners discontinue using pool nets when their children are old enough to swim properly. Therefore we support the need for perimeter yard fences to protect neighbouring children and animals but we would prefer to see freedom of choice in our own backyards to suit our family needs and in the case of a pool net even better safety. The net seems to be the first choice of parents who wish to have a more positive barrier for their own children. Fences can be impractical on above ground pools, spa’s, fish ponds and water features, this is where a net can be the perfect barrier and has no equal.
