The Sanford Police Department will conduct background checks for local records only (Sanford Police Department records only). The Department, for a fee, will fingerprint citizens, but it is the responsibility of the employing business to mail the finger print cards off to FDLE or the FBI. We do not get involved in any background checks other than for future employees of the Police Department.
