The Luling Oxidation Pond discharges treated wastewater into the wetlands south of Luling. The parish has three sewer treatment plants: One in Hahnville (1.7 million gallons per day), one in Destrehan (4.4 million gallons per day) and the Luling Oxidation Pond, which has been in operation since the mid-1960s.
