Even after taking the pill for many years you need have no concern about adverse effects on fertility. If you wish to have a child, you can stop taking the pill at any time at the end of a pack. Ovulation and the onset of pregnancy will then already be possible during the following cycle. Within one year the rate of pregnancy in women who took the contraceptive pill for years is identical to that of women who have never taken the pill.
