Does the pill cause weight gain?
Some women gain weight when they take the Pill. And some lose weight, while others don’t fluctuate at all. Weight can be affected by such a wide range of factors—changes in your lifestyle, diet, exercise routine, or stress level—that it’s hard to pinpoint just one. Bloating, which is caused by water retention, can also give the appearance of weight gain. For those women who do experience weight gain or bloating, simple adjustments in diet and activity can help.
No thats a myth. The pill doesn’t make you put weight on its the life change you make when you go on the pill, i.e. you usually go on it when you are in a relationship and when you are in a relationship you tend to go out for meals or stay in with a film and a take-away. You also feel more comfortable with yourself because you are loved-up so let yourself go a little bit. I was on Microgynon for 6 months and had mood swings so went on Mercilon. Been on this for 4 years and had no problems.
I was on microgynon about 5 years ago ,and yes it can cause you to gain weight. The pill itself didn’t, but the increase of appetite did! So if you can curb the hunger urges caused by the pill then the less weight u will gain. It can also affect your breasts. Hormones released from the pill can also cause nasty mood swings. I’d rather just use condoms.
