Does the Pet Porte cat flap work on batteries?
No, the cat flap comes with a small plug-in power adaptor, similar to the ones used on telephones. This enables the Pet Porte unit to scan constantly for your pet. The amount of electricity used however is very small, i.e. less than 2 watts, and you do not need to worry about the batteries going flat thus preventing access for your cat.
