Does The Peddler protect it’s readers from scams?
Please understand that The Peddler does not have the resources to investigate every individual or business who places an ad in our publication, nor can we determine the motives of advertisers. Occasionally a crooked or fraudulent advertiser is revealed to us. If we become aware of a potential risk to our readers, we discontinue the ad as soon as possible and take necessary action to investigate the advertiser. If you suspect illegal activity, fraud or misrepresentation involving any ads published, please contact the appropriate authorities. In addition, we encourage buyers and sellers to notify our office if you suspect fraud, so we can use the information to help identify the persons/businesses involved and screen future ad placements to protect our readers. PLEASE thoroughly investigate and exercise caution before proceeding with any transaction. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
