Does the PCT plan to discontinue chiropody services? Will patients have to seek private treatment in future?

Following the previous public consultation, the key change to the podiatry service is a positive one. We are modernising the service to reflect the changing needs of the population. The new service will focus on those in greatest need, with faster access and better outcomes for those with urgent foot health issues. We hope to enable patients to feel they can access the service as and when they need help, yet feel confident that their more routine needs are being met by either relatives/carers or other non NHS providers such as Age Concern.
