Does the Original Pancake House make their pancakes from scratch?
That’s according to this review: Cardiff by the Sea, CA 4 star rating 12/1/2006 This is one of the better pancake chains around and pancake houses in general. The original one was founded in Oregon in the fifties and they became very successful as they made all of their pancakes from scratch using their homemade batter that is still made on premises using fresh ingredients. You can definitely taste the difference. The also serve the breakfast usuals such as eggs, waffles and crepes. Their omelets are oven-baked and not as greasy. Definitely try their giant cinnamon-glazed apple pancakes which take a bit longer to make and are big enough for two. With a few dozen varieties on the menu it may be confusing as they all sound so good. I also like the lemon-and-sugar-topped “Dutch Baby.” Sources: http://www.yelp.
