Does the orientation and in-service education requirement obligate an ALC to perform CPR?
A. No. KRS 194A.719 only addresses orientation and in-service education, the content of which is at the discretion of the ALC. An ALC may choose not to perform CPR, so long as that policy is disclosed to each client, pursuant to KRS 194A.713. BP. It is recommended that an ALC ensure that all employees are fully informed of the community’s respective policy and procedures concerning CPR.
