Does the open meetings rule apply to committees of the board?
Yes, the rule applies to all committees by the board of directors or its officers.The Condominium Act, Section 11-109(c)(6), states that “a meeting of a governing body shall be open and held at a time and location as provided in the notice or bylaws.”Section 11-101(i) defines “governing body” to include committees. Section 11B-111(1) of the Homeowners Association Act also states that “…all meetings of the homeowners association, including meetings of … a committee of the homeowners association, shall be open to all members of the homeowners association or their agents;”.
