Does the OHS loan dogs for the day of the Iams Wiggle Waggle Walkathon?
A few of the shelter dogs will be going to the Iams Wiggle Waggle Walkathon, those that play well with others. We have our regular dog walkers bringing them to the Walkathon as we do every year. This is an activity that our volunteer dog walkers look forward to. We ask our dog walkers for three reasons: one reason is that they know the dogs well and also, it is a great opportunity for them to show the dogs off. Secondly, they have received training from us on how to handle unknown animals. Lastly, dog walkers walk in sleet, rain, and snow all year and it is a fun reward for them to take the dogs to the Walkathon. If you are dogless, an option is to borrow a friend’s dog for the day of the walkathon, or better yet, invite them to join you!
