Does the Ohio Division play a research role that is unique in the nation?
Yes. The American Cancer Society Ohio Division is currently working on an exciting new initiative to bring cutting-edge research closer to Ohio. The Ohio Division is in negotiations to work with the Cancer Consortium of Ohio, an alliance of major cancer institutions in our state whose goal is to make access to cancer clinical trials available to more Ohioans. This alliance is the first of its kind in the United States. The Ohio Division Board of Directors approved this alliance in concept, and the details are still being worked out. This partnership would include the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals in Cleveland, and the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus.
