Does the Occupational Privilege Tax really go away?

0

A. Not necessarily. If you work outside the school district boundaries and currently pay the OPT, you will continue to do so. If you work within the district in Franklin Township, Cleveland Township or Catawissa Borough, you will now pay the full $10 tax to the municipality. Catawissa Township, Locust Township and Roaring Creek do not levy the OPT so it does really go away for workers employed in those townships.
