Does the Nunavik Inuit Land Claims Agreement provide for certainty over the Aboriginal rights of the Nunavik Inuit?
A. Nunavik Inuit Aboriginal rights on the Québec side of the Québec-Nunavut boundary were clarified under the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement concluded in 1975. Those on the Nunavut side are addressed in the Nunavik Inuit Land Claims Agreement. As a result, all Aboriginal rights of the Nunavik Inuit are those as set out in the two agreements.
