Yes, a battery backup is supplied on all Norstars that will hold programming info through a power outage up to 3 days, provided the unit has been plugged in for 3 days or more to charge. (Note: The software cartridge, which contains the battery backup, only has life span of about 5 years. So if your system has been installed longer than that, you might want to think about replacing the software cartridge.
