Does the Nokia 8910 support GPRS?
For the first time in the premium category, the Nokia 8910 supports GPRS, featuring also WAP over GPRS. Common applications/features enabled by GPRS in the Nokia 8910 are: WAP over GPRS, dial-up over GPRS (e.g. Internet and e-mail), call counters (GPRS Connection timer and GPRS Data counter) As an addition to the GSM network, General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) will enable users to have continuous mobile access to operator services and the Internet. The main initial use for GPRS is to have it as a bearer for WAP services. GPRS provides immediate connectivity and, for WAP users, better throughput than previous WAP enabled phones. When using WAP over GPRS, you can stay on-line longer because you can be charged only for the data transfers you make, not for the connection time. For PC applications, GPRS will give similar benefits as for WAP applications, i.e. more convenient connections.
