Yes, the Department’s Outreach Office (together with the IRS) conducts seminars and workshops for new businesses and the Tax Practitioners’ Institute at various locations throughout the state. The Outreach Office works closely with the training for the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE), Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), the Cooperative Extension, Small Business Development Center, NYS Tax Liaison Committee, Consumer Service Committee and any other community service organizations requesting its assistance.
