Does the mother of my second child have rights to have your child support payments lowered?

Ask for a reduction in payments or modification because the courts say that all children have the right to be equally supported. So if there is an additional child that you are taking care of you should be entitled to some sort of reduction in order to care for that child financially. Probably not a lot of money but anything helps. In NC, I saw on a friend’s child support order calculation a line item for a “reduction due to the care of another child”. His ex has another child by another man and they subtracted $149.50 from her income for this child. I think they had put her income at making $7.00/hr since she refused to get a job so he wouldn’t have to bear 100% financial responsibility. Anyway not sure what calculation they came up with for the $149 reduction on her part but what it does is change the percentage of financial responsibility. He had 67% and she only had 33% of the responsbility. Any children you have should be entitled to the same financial support from their father. G
