Does the Mormon Church own Readers Digest magazine?

At this point there’s no available reference to the Mormon Church owning Reader’s Digest but someone might know. You could always phone the President of the Church. He’s The Prophet, Seer, and Revelator so he should be able to inform you of their connection, if any, to Readers Digest. The Mormon church NEVER reveals its financial holdings to church members. According to Time Mag article – in 1997 LDS was a $30 Billion Church Empire and growing. They have massive foreign construction, spending billions to erect 350 church-size meeting houses a year and adding 15 cathedral-size temples to the existing 50. And that was 8 years ago!

Probably not, but it is possible that the Church owns stock in the company which publishes Reader’s Digest. It is the kind of publication which the Church would support. If the question is actually one of editorial control by the Church, this is unlikely.
