If pre-programmed thresholds are exceeded, alarms are sent by e-mail, fax, and text messages or by means of SNMP (simple network management protocol) Trap messages. The alarm systems which are on site (e.g. sirens, safety barriers, red lights) can also be connected to the monitoring station.
