Does the Milwaukee Fire Department give away free cribs?

The Milwaukee Fire Department has a program called Safe Sleep for Infants which allows our paramedics to distribute portable “Pack ‘N Play” cribs to families of infants at risk for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). If at anytime during an EMS run one of our personnel identify that there is an infant (less than one year old) who is not sleeping in a safe environment, they can give the parent/guardian a free crib. The cribs are only given away in the event that MFD personnel show up to your home for an EMS call. If a parent would like to request a crib, they can contact the Southside Health Center at 414-286-8620.
