Does the MicroFueler have filters which require maintenance and/or replacement?

There is minimal maintenance associated with the MicroFueler. There are two filter screens–one on the incoming water line and the second coming out of the fermenter to the pump that feeds the distillation column. These are coarse screens to filter any debris that may be inadvertently put into the feedstock tank. Whereas the MicroFueler has instrumentation to alert the user of clogs, we recommend periodic visual inspection and cleaning of these filters. There is also a membrane which may need to be replaced every 3-5 years. The membrane is a cartridge with an anticipated cost of $500.
