MDG Carbon Facility projects are well positioned to obtain capitalization from third parties. UNDP, through its technical assistance and networks, can assist in arranging financing. Similarly, each Facility project enters into an Emission Reduction Purchase Agreement with Fortis, which can be a significant asset in securing financing from third parties. Note that under the Facility, Fortis purchases carbon credits. The Facility does not provide direct underlying finance to its projects.
