Does the MC have the critical mass necessary to take in the UB Church?
The Missionary Church offered this statement: “At the end of 2002, the Missionary Church had 387 U.S. congregations with more than 36,000 members and average worship attendance exceeding 56,000. During 2003 the number of congregations has surpassed 400 and worship attendance statistical reports will likely exceed 58,000. There will be issues to address in receiving as many as 250 congregations, but the structures and ministries can likely handle it with adequate preparations over the next 18-24 months. “The Missionary Church position is not to wait for final approval to make adequate preparations. For example, we recognize that a key area of value and ministry for incoming UB churches will be the availability of assistance via our Healthy Church Initiative.
