Does the mass of a body changes as we go from earth to moon?{ not talking abt weight}?
No, your mass stays the same. The force of gravity changes on you, so you will have a different force on you when you land on the moon in proportion to your mass. You will have the same mass, but the force of gravity at the moon will be about 1/6th of here on earth. F = ma a =9.8 m/s^2 on earth a = 1.63 m/s^2 on moon Here also is a good way to think of it. A mass on the moon has 1/6th of the gravity on it than on earth. But the mass stays the same. How so? Think if someone was to smash your face with a baseball bat on earth. The bat has a mass of 1 kg. Go to the moon and swing that same bat into someone’s face. The bat still has same mass, it will still smash just as well in space.
