Does the Manitoba government have any programs that help persons with a disability get a job in the government?
We have two programs specifically designed for persons with disabilities: • Public Administration Internship Program for Persons with Disabilities – an internship program specifically designed to recruit educated persons with a disability that are interested in a career in the Manitoba civil service and have the potential to fill future vacancies. • Career Assistance Program for Persons with Disabilities – provides placement opportunities for persons with a disability in government department program areas where there is the likelihood of continuing employment by the department following the placement period. Employment equity is also a factor in the selection progress for all competitions. In some situations competitions are equity designated for or provide equity preference to persons with disabilities.
