No, but it’s pretty close. Ever since Sweed dropped that pass in the 2008 AFC Championship Game, his career has spiraled downward. He dropped more key passes. He mysteriously left the team due to “personal issues”. He will miss the entire 2010 season with an achilles tendon injury. It’s a sad outcome for a guy who we all had big hopes for. Why had there been no movement on the Jeff Reed and LaMarr Woodley deals? Reed and Woodley are both in the final year of their contracts. Neither one has been offered an extension yet, and they are both pissed about it. Reed said he was “lied” to by the Steelers, and Woodley cannot understand why he is still playing for peanuts despite being one of the most productive players on the team since the day he was drafted in 2007. I totally sympathize with both players (though more so with Woodley, who has carried himself with a lot more class in his time here than Reed has).
