Does the library accept donations?
The Library accepts donations of new and used books, DVDs, videos, and CDs. Depending on our current needs, some items will go into the library collection and others will be sold by the Friends of the Southlake Library (FOSL) at our ongoing booksale. FOSL uses these proceeds to purchase new materials and equipment for the Library.
A donation to the San Bernardino Public Library will help to support library programs and enhance library collections. Donors can specify how their gifts are to be used within the guidelines of the library’s donation policy. The library also accepts donations of used books, cassettes, CDs, videos and DVDs that are in good condition. They will either be added to the library’s public collection or sold in the Friends of the Librarys used book sale. Contributions to the library are tax deductible.
The library gratefully accepts both material and monetary donations. Material donations such as books or audio/visual items are first evaluated for possible addition to the collection. If we cannot add them to the collection, we sell them at the Friends of the Library Book Sale held four times a year. We cannot accept any textbooks, National Geographic collections, moldy materials or encyclopedia sets. Monetary donations are accepted for the purchase of book memorials or toward general operating expenses.
