Does the law limit assistance with transferring in an ALC?

A. No. Transferring is an activity of daily living, as defined in KRS 194A.700. Pursuant to life safety codes, all clients must be able to safely evacuate during a fire or like emergency at any time. Any clients requiring assistance, such as with transferring or cueing, must be identified in the evacuation capability documentation and applicable staff training.
