Does the law firm use consultants or referrals?
We do use consultants and referrals. We do not handle criminal matters or bankruptcy proceedings and have attorneys to whom we can refer the client for such matters. With respect to bankruptcy proceedings, if the firm has particular experience in a matter for a client, we will work with the bankruptcy counsel allocating tasks so as to try to reduce the client’s legal fees and/or enhance the result. We work with a variety of consultants/experts such as accountants and appraisers. We also work with psychologists in divorce proceedings where there are disputes as to custody. You, as the client, make all decisions on the retention of consultants and experts. Almost all arrangements are in writing and signed by client.
