Does the laser target change size with distance?
No. Making the target change size would require a method of placing a moveable lens assemble in front of the laser. We included this feature, along with the moveable camera/laser head, in our patent but we decided not to implement it because: • it would dramatically increase the complexity of the system – more motors, more control systems, more to go wrong; • it would increase the weight of the system. Adding weight to the camera/laser head would require more powerful motors to move things; • spreading the beam of a low power (safe) laser would make it very difficult to see; • using a more powerful laser would be dangerous (and maybe even illegal in a consumer product); • it would increase the cost of the system by about 5 times – shooters would not appreciate this; • in the experience of DryFire users it is not necessary. We provide distance information in a number of ways: • for trap and skeet disciplines you know the distance anyway – because they are repetitive; • for all targets w
