Samples of eligible research topics include, but are not limited to, civil society networks and how they mobilize against organized crime and drugs (i.e. what can be done from a non-state perspective); a study of a selection of coca producing communities; the role of DEA or state department, the role of police; how interplay of security, drugs, and democracy affects development; influence of drug traffickers on local state police; etc.
