Does the LAP-BAND require frequent office visits after surgery?

Check-ups are a normal and a very important part of the LAP-BAND System follow-up. We see the patient one week following surgery to check the wounds. Then we see the patient at six weeks post op where we consider the first fill. Subsequent visits are every 6 8 weeks. Most patients need 4 5 fills (adjustments) during the first year. After that, patients are seen every 6 months. We also see our patients monthly at the support group meetings.

Check-ups are a normal and a very important part of the LAP-BAND System follow-up. Frequent post-op visits have been shown to result in better weight loss. Bad eating habits can be addressed and changed. Also during these post-op visits, adjustments (band fills) are performed to drive the weight loss.

yes, it is fact that Lap Band Surgery takes very less time to follow up your daily Routine. Lap Surgery is very different from other gastric bypass surgery. It is just used to place at the top of your stomach to control food intake capacity. So you can definitely visit office within few weeks after surgery.

Check-ups are a normal and a very important part of the lap-band surgery follow-up. We see patients at two weeks out from surgery and then again at five weeks when you will receive your first fill if needed. We like to see our patients every two to four weeks after that until your band is tight enough and then once a month for the first year and/or until weight-loss goals are achieved and then every six months to a year after that.
