Does the judge decide who pays for college?
Only for children in college or about to apply for college. The judge considers the financial resource of the parents and the child, and the availability of financial aid. If the children want to attend an out-of-state or private school that is beyond the financial means of the parties, the judge may limit the parents’ contribution to what they would have paid if the child were to have attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.
