Does the Jiffy Lube transmission flush hurt more than it helps?
If done at the right times then yes it can help. That is if they also change the filter at the same time, which most won’t do. If the tranny has high mileage then don’t bother with it unless you want to gamble on having to replace or rebuild your tranny. For flushing an older neglected tranny will clean out all of the old fluid which can be good, but in this case it allows the clean fluid detergents to loosen up any buildup in the tranny and plugs up the internal pluming and brings the tranny to a halt, which is not good. Most of these shops are looking for an easy quick dollar and won’t replace your tranny if it goes bad from the flush.
