Does the japanese language have symbols and alphabet based words aswell ?
Japanese does not have an alphabet. Romaji is merely Japanese written in the Roman alphabet for foreigners who have not learned how to read the Japanese writing systems. No where in Japan is romaji used. Japanese has three writing systems. Hiragana and katakana are the most basic, where each character represents a sound. Kanji are the intricate characters that represent ideas and clusters of sounds.
